The Aeolian Islands archipelago consists
of seven islands, recognized for the beauty - natural -
history art and culture. They have been declared by
UNESCO HERITAGE FOR HUMANITY "in 2000.
They are located in the south of Italy, north east of
Sicily and are part of the Regional Province of Messina.
The seven islands are of Volcanic origin. Vulcano and
Stromboli are the most active volcanoes in Europe.
Despite the geological conformation, the islands have a
wide thick vegetation and exclusive land
plants that are
for the world grounds for study.
The islands are rich in history and Mythological
stories. They are habited by a few people but they are
equipped to accommodate tourists. Art
-History-Culture-monuments with frescoes and churches of
various dominations traces can be seen in all the
habited islands since the time of Neolithic.
On the island of Lipari is an Archaeological Museum one
of the most important in Europe. On the islands you can
find beautiful coastlines and the beautiful pristine
waters.
